EK Fluid Works Studio Series S5000 – Tech Power Up Review
7/21/2022 11:24 AM
Our EK Fluid Works Studio Series is geared toward content creators, video editors, VFX specialists and general power users who have very high expectations of their workstations. Whether it is used for video and 3D model rendering tasks or game development, you’ll find that the Studio series can easily tackle heavy-duty AI applications or pretty much any computing process you need.
But top-tier performance isn’t the only box these workstations can check. Cool, quiet operation and a high degree of reliability were also at the top of our list. Thanks to EK’s renowned liquid cooling system, all of these goals were achieved beyond all expectations, boasting performance much greater than that of their air-cooled counterparts.
Any company or manufacturer can make lofty claims about the capabilities of their product. But proving to the customer that those claims are valid requires some third-party testing and validation before actually purchasing the product.
Standing behind our word, we sent a well-equipped EK Fluid Works Studio Series S5000 workstation to Tech Power Up to put it through its paces. It featured a CPU monster in the form of the 64-core AMD Threadripper 3990X, 128GB of DDR4 RAM, and two NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 graphics cards.
The S5000 blazed through all the tests with ease, tackled all the tasks they could throw at it, and still came out on top. Here’s what they had to say about the system:
“Overall, the EK Fluid Works S5000 proves itself to be a monster of a system compared to more traditional consumer options. In fact, in heavily threaded or GPU-intensive workloads, it all but dominates traditional PCs. Therefore, if your workloads can benefit from a brute force approach, the EK Fluid Works S5000 proves more than capable, and as such, I have no issue recommending it if your budget allows for it.” – TechPowerUp.
